Solar panels floating on the sea: the idea may sound like something from science-fiction, but an Italian firm has made it a reality. In the first scheme of its kind in the world, the panels turn on the water in order to follow the sun. As well as providing renewable energy, the scheme is cheaper to install than traditional solar panels.Duration:02:11
Die Unternehmensberatung A.T.

I recently picked up an HP 6060B electronic load at an auction, along with a HP 6645A lab power supply and a vintage 3455A DVM to add to my collection of vintage HP instruments. These will be used in a power supply test rig, for other restorations. Sure enough, the 6060B did not work. Oh, well, yet another awesome piece of vintage HP gear to repair.
Far Niente Winery in Napa Valley, decided to build a solar array to float on a pond near its cabernet vineyard. The idea was to not use valuable land where they grow their wine grapes. Greg Allen, the manager of the solar project discusses the technology challenges building an electrical system on top of water and running an underground transmission line from the pond to the winery.

http://kse-africa.com/ A video showcasing the Orapa Power Plant of KS Energy, a company that develops and/or operates gas to power projects throughout the Sub Saharan Africa region. Gas-to-power technology is a vital part of Africa’s power mix and has a solid track record. Power plants like the Orapa Power Plant are simple to design and construct, more environmentally friendly than heavy fuel oils, and offer benefits such as lower operating and maintenance costs. KS Energy has demonstrated this with the Orapa Power Plant in Botswana. The video puts the spotlight on localization and the KS Energy philosophy of developing and empowering local people.

For the Far Niente Winery located in California's Napa Valley, an acre of land is more valuable than gold, so finding space for solar panels is tough -- and costly. The solution? To float the panels on their irrigation pond, using new photovoltaic technology. "Floating solar", backers say, could be a boon for farming and a range of other industries. Duration: 02:24

The Great Canadian Energy Conversation: New Momentum for the Transformation of Canada’s Electricity Future Much has changed since Solar Canada 2014. New leadership in the Governments of Canada and Alberta and heightened collaboration throughout the rest of Canada has highlighted the importance of tackling climate change and de-carbonizing our electricity supply. This transformation will have broad implications for electricity systems across the country. Moderator Dan Woynillowicz, Director, Policy & Partnerships, Clean Energy Canada brought together again good friends (sometimes good adversaries but always industry leaders) from a selection of the Canadian energy sectors for a lively discussion about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Panelists included: John Gorman, Presi...
SFR is a unique building integrated photovoltaic hospitality concept, part habitation, part yacht and part submarine, totally self-sufficient energy generator, non-polluting and in unison with its natural surroundings. SFR is a hospitality product that will enhance the standards of front beach hotels and island resorts bringing them to a seven stars level! SFR has been designed like a luxury yacht and a luxury hotel suite, with a fully submerged observation bulb because the majority of people are fascinated by watching and photographing exotic fishes, dolphins, sharks and marine turtle. SFR reaches twenty meters in length, is designed for six people at sea and is ideal for living in marinas connected to front beach hotels or island resorts.
